The handicap is a positive or negative value applied to a team or participant at the end of a specified period. Bets of this type predict which team or participant will win the market once the handicap has been applied.

Handicap markets:
There are two types of handicap markets — two-way handicaps and three-way handicaps.

A bet placed on a two-way handicap market means that if the game ends in a draw then the result will be classed as a push and stakes returned.

A bet placed on a three-way handicap market gives the option to bet on a draw within the game.
